OUR APPROACH

Psilocybin and other psychedelics are generating significant excitement as potential pathways toward healing, and for good reason. Psilocybin has demonstrated the ability to bypass our defenses and catalyze change that may be challenging to achieve through conventional therapy alone. Under the right conditions, psilocybin can foster openness, curiosity, humility, self-compassion, and interconnectedness.

By temporarily shifting our routinized ways of thinking and facilitating communication between different regions of the brain, psilocybin offers the potential for profound and lasting transformation. Groundbreaking clinical trials have shown promising results in reducing treatment-resistant depression, alcohol dependence, and end-of-life anxiety. However, what many consumers may not know is that research exploring the efficacy of psilocybin involves highly controlled environments where licensed mental health professionals facilitate every step of the process, from preparation to dosing and integration.

Expertise in Mental Health

At Quest Therapeutics, we believe in prioritizing the involvement of mental health professionals as our primary licensed psilocybin facilitators. Unlike the Oregon framework that mandates only a 120-hour training program, a 40-hour practicum, and a high school diploma, our licensed psilocybin facilitators have obtained at least a master’s degree in counseling, social work, or psychology, in addition to meeting the minimum training standards set forth by the Oregon Health Authority.

While our facilitators do not provide licensed therapy services during psilocybin sessions, their background and experience in mental health are fundamental to our non-directive harm reduction approach. They possess the expertise to navigate the complexities of the mind and emotions that can arise before, during, and following a psilocybin journey. By nurturing a safe and supportive environment and establishing a strong working relationship, Ryan and Chesley ensure the psychological well-being, emotional safety, and transformative potential of our clients.
